Aircraft Acquisition, Financing and Management

We represent aircraft owners, fixed base operators and charter management companies with respect to the acquisition, financing, use and operation of aircraft, including compliance issues under Parts 91 and 135 of the Federal Aviation Regulations, joint ownership, loan or lease structured financing of aircraft, title review (both FAA and IR), charter arrangements and management agreements.

We act a special counsel for local lending institutions with respect to the structure of asset-based loan or lease financing transactions for the purchase of aircraft for the lender’s clients.

We also have acted as special counsel for aircraft operators and hospital or community-sponsored emergency aeromedical transportation programs (both helicopter and fixed-wing) throughout the United States.

Our attorneys have been involved in the acquisition, ownership and use of more than 700 aircraft since 1983.

Representative matters:

■ Represented operator in $48,000,000 structured financing and refinancing of 14 helicopters for use in multiple aeromedical transportation programs throughout the United States.
■ Represented operator in $10,500,000 of structured tax leases for three new helicopters for use in multiple aeromedical transportation programs in western Pennsylvania.
■ Represented lender in $3,400,000 loan for purchase of a LearJet by private owner.
■ Represented fixed based operator in negotiating and drafting aircraft management agreement for privately owned aircraft.
